Art Club 
Bon Lin’s Art Club will consist of a community of like-minded individuals whose purpose is to learn, explore and create art.  The art club purpose is to create an art space for serious young artist that is different from the normal classroom setting.  Through the guidance of art teachers, students will find creative ways to problem solve, express, and improve upon skills needed to become a developing young artist. Students with at least a “B” average in all classes and has exemplary conduct, are encouraged to apply.  There will be a 25.00 club fee which will cover all supplies needed.  The art club meets on Wednesday’s from 4:10 – 5:20. The sponsors are Mr. Wells, Mrs. Hartman, and Mrs. Carboni.

Basketball
The basketball teams consists of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. The purpose of the teams is to promote sportsmanship while improving basketball skills.. We have a girls team (Lady Lynx) and a boys team (Lynx).  Sponsors: Coach Craig & Coach Dobson.  Basketball Schedule

Beta Club
The National Beta Club has become the nation's largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. We are committed to recognizing and promoting high academic achievement, encouraging service to others, and developing character and leadership skills. Since its beginnings, The National Beta Club has worked with over five and a half million young people in grades 5-9 (Junior Beta Club) and grades 9-12 (Senior Beta Club). There are now more than 418,000 active members and more than 8,000 clubs in 42 states, District of Columbia, 3 U.S. territories and 4 foreign countries.
Being a student-centered organization, The National Beta Club continually seeks ways to develop and nurture elementary and secondary school students by providing opportunities and experiences that enable students to demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service and leadership to enable them to demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service and leadership. Big Brother/Big Sister
The expectations of middle school can seem overwhelming to incoming 6th graders as they try to juggle the many expectations and challenges it brings.  Bon Lin Middle offers a Big Brother/Big Sister mentoring program to assist our 6th grade students.  We pair responsible 7th and 8th grade students with 6th graders who seem to need a little care and direction at the end of the day.  This not only helps the Little Brothers and Little Sisters to feel more organized, but also helps them feel connected to an older peer who will look out for them and listen to their concerns.  Big Brothers and Big Sisters had to submit an application and receive two teacher recommendations to participate in the program.

6th & 8th Grade Book Club
The Book Club will meet on the first Friday of each month at 8am in room 300.  Students will be discussing their favorite books and making recommendations to others for book choices.  They will select by popular opinion  a novel  for the club members to all read and discuss at  future meetings.  A different genre of literature will be chosen to read each month.  Any interested 6th grader is invited to attend whether they previously signed up or not.  Sponsors: Mrs. Parson, Mrs. Fox, Mrs. R. Baum, Mrs. D. Holley and Mr. D. Morrison

7th Grade Book Club
7th Grade Book Club will meet on the first Wednesday of each month.  Students will chose a book to read from a chosen genre each month.  They will then give book talks on their chosen books.  Sponsors: Mrs. Basehart & Mrs. Boren

Book Fair Crew
Members of the Book Fair CREW assist in the planning and implementation of the book fair.  Students meet several times before the book fair to brainstorm and plan the theme, contests, and organization of the fair.  CREW members assist the librarian and book fair chairperson during the book fair set up, sale, and clean up.  The CREW is selected from an application process by the book fair chair and librarian.  The CREW is open to students from all grade levels and there is not cost to be part of the CREW.  Sponsor:  Mrs. Boren

Cheerleading
The purpose of this squad shall be to motivate good behavior, to promote school spirit, to provide entertainment for the school and community, to promote leadership qualities, as well as help the competitive spirit to further develop personal characteristics such as poise and confidence.  We currently have 28 cheerleaders that are in 6th-8th grade. This year we are not competitive, but hope to become competitive on next school year.  Practices are held on Saturday’s at CSI Gym and on Wednesday’s at Bon Lin Middle from 4:00pm-5:45pm.  Practice schedule is subject to change.  Sponsors: Ms. Erin Alvarez & Ms. Sharonda Futrell.

Chess Club
The Bon Lin Chess Club is dedicated to developing the following skills for students to help them become life-long learners: Visionary Thinking, Multi-step problem solving, performing well under pressure, team work and cooperation, development of higher-order thinking.  Sponsor: Mr. Morrison

Choir
The honor choir is group of 35 6th - 8th graders. They will be meeting Tuesday mornings at 7:30am each week. They will be singing a song or two on our holiday concert. The Choir Holiday Concert is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 11th at 7pm. Currently, we are planning on holding our concert in the Gym.  Sponsor: Mrs. Green

C.L.I.C.K.
Christ Living in Christian Kids sponsors monthly meetings, See You at the Pole and National Day of Prayer. Sponsors:  Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Hearn, & Ms. Kuykendall

Creative Writing Club
The members of the Creative Writing Club at Bon Lin Middle typically meet every other Tuesday after school.  The club members play writing and storytelling games in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere!  The club is open to all grade levels, and there is no fee to join.  The sponsor for the club is Ms. Schrader (Eighth Grade Hall; Room 204).  
Drama Club
6th, 7th, and 8th graders meet in various areas to explore different facets of Theatre Arts.  Drama club students may explore improvisation, basic acting skills, voice and stage movement, and technical theatre.  7th and 8th graders have the opportunity to audition for school plays, while 6th graders are encouraged to participate in backstage work.  Sponsors: Mrs. Basehart, Mr. Morrison, Mrs. Roberson, & Mrs. Spuryer.

Environmental Club
Students in the environmental club are concerned about our planet! We lead a recycling campaign for paper, ink cartridges, and cell phones, and over the course of the year will work to beautify our campus and encourage our peers to Go Green.  Sponsors: Mrs. Bishop, Mrs. Onek, & Mr. Snider

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The purpose of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club is to present to athletes and coaches and all whom they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church. This extracurricular activity is open to all Bon Lin Middle School students.  Meetings are typically held twice a month from 8:15 – 8:45 a.m. With a light breakfast served on a first come, first serve basis. Students fellowship with one another, engage in a short group activity, and listen to a short devotional from a guest speaker! Students are asked to donate a small $10 due to help with the cost of breakfast.  Sponsor: Coach Dobson & Mrs. Ladd

Lynx Ambassadors
Students applied earlier in the year for this leadership position by submitting an application and getting two teacher recommendations.  Lynx Ambassadors represent Bon Lin Middle through their leadership ability, strong academics and good character.  These students give tours to new students, help with assemblies and programs such as Career Day, and do service projects throughout the year.  The Lynx Ambassadors are a valuable resource to the school.  They show lots of dedication, support and school spirit as they help others.

National Jr. Honor Society
NJHS is a national organization that recognizes students for their scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Inductions are held each Spring, and eligible students must be 7th or 8th graders with at least a 3.67 GPA for the past 3 semesters, a teacher recommendation, and no N’s or U’s in any class. Meetings are held once a month and we also participate in various service projects throughout the school year!  Sponsors: Mrs. Mays & Mrs. Parr

Outdoors Club
The members of the Outdoors Club at Bon Lin Middle enjoy nature and finding time to take part in outdoor events.  The club members spend time outside riding mountain bikes, hiking, and other fun activities.  The club is open to all grade levels and there is no club fee.  The sponsor for the club is Dr. Dyer.

Peer Mediation
Peer Mediation is set to begin soon!  Peer Mediators are students that are trained to help other students reach solutions to their problems.  Peer Mediators bring two students together in a safe and structured environment to help them stay focused on finding a solution that meets their needs. All Peer Mediators recently completed  training and we are set to begin very soon!

Peer Tutors
Peer Tutors are academically strong students who enjoy helping others.  These students come in early every Tuesday and Wednesday to work with students who may need extra help in certain subjects.  Our Peer Tutoring group is wonderful!  They are dedicated, responsible and kind students who truly enjoy helping others.

Photography Club
Students meet monthly to learn about and practice various photography techniques including action shots, candids, poses, nature, animals, and events.  At the end of the second semester, these talented students will compose a portfolio highlighting their best shots taken throughout the year.  Sponsors: Mrs. Marquart, Mrs. Pilant, & Mrs. Roberson

Runners Club
The members of Bon Lin Blazers meet several times monthly to improve distance running skills.  The skill level of club members range from beginners to advanced, with many members just beginning to learn how to run.  Club members also meet off campus to participate in local road races.  Participation in road races in voluntary and not a requirement to participate in the club. The Bon Lin Blazer’s welcome students from all grade levels and there is no fee to join.  Parents must sign a liability waiver and students must wear appropriate running gear (shorts, shirt, pants, shoes).  Students that are not properly dressed will not be permitted to run with the group.  Sponsors:  Mrs. Boren, Ms. Vanslyke

Yearbook
The yearbook staff is comprised of 6-8th graders who contribute to not only the photography and layout of the book, but also sales and marketing.  These students take pictures at school events, design the background pages, and create websites and slideshows to promote sales of the yearbook.  Sponsor: Mrs. Marquart  Yearbook Site
